March is always a crazy month at Townsend, with the rush of energy for Spring nearby and finally getting settled in to the new year.
This year we got a little extra crazy and if you were a lucky recipient of our annual Townsend Leather Calendar, www.townsendleather.com/2015/lifestyle/townsend-leather-rocks, and have flipped over to March – you probably noticed just how crazy we got!

Have you ever had the feeling you wanted to just skip over a day?
Have you ever wanted to live the same day twice?
Well, with Townsend’s calendar, this March – you can!
You will notice there is no March 8th. It’s a free day! Skip it, leave it, don’t worry about it! A day you don’t have to remember, a day you won’t even notice!

That would be plenty of fun for one month, but it doesn’t stop there!

We look forward to creating a mistake-free calendar next year, but for now, we look at the month of March as a time to get excited, to be present, and to treat each day as a special gift – no matter what the date really is!
Join us in making ‘mindful holidays‘ out of these date screw-ups. We aim to do this each and every day, but especially this year on March 13th, 13th, 22nd, and 22nd – we are going to take extra time to focus on the things that matter most.
It is so easy to get caught up in the day to day, to let the days fly by almost unnoticed. How many times have you looked at your calendar only to be surprised that is already Thursday or that it’s only Tuesday! This March, don’t let that happen, let your faulty calendar help you to rely on your own sense of time and importance.
Take a moment these days to breath and slow down. Do something you love. Spend extra time working on your personal design project. Take a friend to lunch. Take yourself to lunch! Do a crazy memorable thing. Take these days as an excuse, as a prompt, as a reason to do something off track, out of routine, out of the norm. You won’t regret it.

New Sales Representation in the U.K.We are pleased to announce that Jean-Luc Delouche has been selected as Townsend’s sales representative for the U.K. area.
Jean-Luc is not new to Townsend Leather; he has done a tremendous job representing Townsend in other areas of Europe for more than 10 years.
Jean-Luc is excellent at understanding our clients’ specific and detailed leather needs for projects and programs and at matching them to Townsend’s extensive product lines and capabilities as a manufacturer.

This year was full of new products, exciting projects, and tons of fun. One of the fun things we just finished up was our annual Townsend Leather calendar.
Many of our friends and customers will soon be receiving our ever popular annual gift calendar. We craft these calendars each year to be a piece of Townsend functional art you can have at your desk. We always aim to do something different with the calendar, and this year has been an especially interesting one. It is proving to be one of our most popular calendars yet! So if you don’t see one from your Townsend rep or in your mailbox in the next couple weeks, get your request for one in soon!

Our calendar features beautiful Townsend Leather product photos, and since 2015 was such a rockin’ good year for Townsend – each month has a “grit-inspiring” song suggestion, to rock out to throughout the month.

As our President Jared Eckler has been talking about all year, and on the calendar, this year was full of grit. Grit in strength, in patience, in passion. It has been a year full of new products, exciting developments, new hires, fun times, and lots of meaningful memories.
We like to say that this year was really rocking, and so as you can scroll through these pics – treat them as if they are a rockin’ playlist of memories and it is playing on shuffle, just a few randomly chosen pics to reflect on.
We are so grateful for the year we were able to enjoy and celebrate together. We are sad to see 2015 come to an end, but we are eagerly welcoming 2016 with open arms knowing it will be a continuation of our incredible time together. We are still in a whirlwind of magic and happiness after last Friday!
Townsend Leather spent the day, once again being awarded as a 2015 BEST PLACE TO WORK by the Albany Business Review. See our previous awards here, Townsend is a Top/Best Place to Work
We are so honored to be recognized as a Best Place to Work, we know it and feel it every day.
The award event was held during the day Friday. A handful of Townsend Partners attended to represent our company and they had a blast. Each company submitted video clips to show how rockin’ their workplace is – Townsend’s video did not disappoint!
It is always an honor to be recognized especially for something that all Townsend Partners create together and hold in high regard. We work as a team to create this best workplace, we work as a team to rock out, we work as a team to create meaning and memories. It is a special kind of magic to work at such a great place and to be able to share that with the community.
But, that was hardly the only magic of the day. That evening, the magic continued in full force with a visit from SANTA AND FRIENDS!
Townsend Partners had prepared a Winter Wonderland area in the building to host Santa, Mrs. Claus, Sprinkles the Elf, and ANNA and ELSA from Frozen!
So many happy excited kids came through to see Santa and his friends and get their photo taken. Seeing kids run and hug Santa or Elsa or Anna, seeing kids come in so incredibly excited and then immediately get shy, seeing kids help their siblings get comfortable, seeing partners dance all crazy to try and get kids to smile, seeing the Townsend team all over the place with smiles on their faces helping everyone… there were certainly many memories made and many stories shared about Sprinkles, and Elsa, Anna, Mrs. Claus and of course SANTA the next day.
Cookies, crafts, music… it was a truly magical night with magical friends and we look forward to doing it again next year.
