New Sales Representation in the U.K.We are pleased to announce that Jean-Luc Delouche has been selected as Townsend’s sales representative for the U.K. area.
Jean-Luc is not new to Townsend Leather; he has done a tremendous job representing Townsend in other areas of Europe for more than 10 years.
Jean-Luc is excellent at understanding our clients’ specific and detailed leather needs for projects and programs and at matching them to Townsend’s extensive product lines and capabilities as a manufacturer.
Jean-Luc will be making appointments in the U.K. in the coming weeks.

This year was full of new products, exciting projects, and tons of fun. One of the fun things we just finished up was our annual Townsend Leather calendar.
Many of our friends and customers will soon be receiving our ever popular annual gift calendar. We craft these calendars each year to be a piece of Townsend functional art you can have at your desk. We always aim to do something different with the calendar, and this year has been an especially interesting one. It is proving to be one of our most popular calendars yet! So if you don’t see one from your Townsend rep or in your mailbox in the next couple weeks, get your request for one in soon!

Our calendar features beautiful Townsend Leather product photos, and since 2015 was such a rockin’ good year for Townsend – each month has a “grit-inspiring” song suggestion, to rock out to throughout the month.
Our calendar is held together (and can be held to the wall) with a special Townsend pin, but we are loving to see all the creative ways that folks are designing to display their calendar! When you get yours, make sure to send us a pic of how you use it!

As our President Jared Eckler has been talking about all year, and on the calendar, this year was full of grit. Grit in strength, in patience, in passion. It has been a year full of new products, exciting developments, new hires, fun times, and lots of meaningful memories.
We like to say that this year was really rocking, and so as you can scroll through these pics – treat them as if they are a rockin’ playlist of memories and it is playing on shuffle, just a few randomly chosen pics to reflect on.
We are so grateful for the year we were able to enjoy and celebrate together. We are sad to see 2015 come to an end, but we are eagerly welcoming 2016 with open arms knowing it will be a continuation of our incredible time together. Thank you for being a part of Townsend Leather’s 2015, we hope you had as much joy and success as we did.

We are still in a whirlwind of magic and happiness after last Friday!
Townsend Leather spent the day, once again being awarded as a 2015 BEST PLACE TO WORK by the Albany Business Review. See our previous awards here, Townsend is a Top/Best Place to Work
We are so honored to be recognized as a Best Place to Work, we know it and feel it every day.
The award event was held during the day Friday. A handful of Townsend Partners attended to represent our company and they had a blast. Each company submitted video clips to show how rockin’ their workplace is – Townsend’s video did not disappoint!
It is always an honor to be recognized especially for something that all Townsend Partners create together and hold in high regard. We work as a team to create this best workplace, we work as a team to rock out, we work as a team to create meaning and memories. It is a special kind of magic to work at such a great place and to be able to share that with the community.
But, that was hardly the only magic of the day. That evening, the magic continued in full force with a visit from SANTA AND FRIENDS!
Townsend Partners had prepared a Winter Wonderland area in the building to host Santa, Mrs. Claus, Sprinkles the Elf, and ANNA and ELSA from Frozen!
So many happy excited kids came through to see Santa and his friends and get their photo taken. Seeing kids run and hug Santa or Elsa or Anna, seeing kids come in so incredibly excited and then immediately get shy, seeing kids help their siblings get comfortable, seeing partners dance all crazy to try and get kids to smile, seeing the Townsend team all over the place with smiles on their faces helping everyone… there were certainly many memories made and many stories shared about Sprinkles, and Elsa, Anna, Mrs. Claus and of course SANTA the next day.
Cookies, crafts, music… it was a truly magical night with magical friends and we look forward to doing it again next year.

This November, Townsend Leather is bursting with new products.
But none are quite as exciting as our new launch with the one and only Stacy Garcia!
The creative teams of Stacy Garcia and Townsend Leather have been hard at work over the past 6 months imagining, designing, developing and fine-tuning 4 brand new leather offerings we are thrilled to be bringing to the market this month!
Townsend Leather was excited to work with Stacy Garcia because of the inspirational and fresh perspectives she brought on color and patterns and her unique and comprehensive design expertise. From our first brainstorming session where many great ideas were flowing, we worked to narrow down our first collection together which resulted in 3 leathers in brand new embossed patterns and a 4th luxurious and complementary hand-rubbed leather. Each product line in the collection has a distinctive pattern or texture and a stunning color palette that stands on their own or coordinates beautifully with other leathers and textiles.
The new Stacy Garcia leathers will officially be launched at BDNY in New York this Sunday and Monday, at Townsend’s Booth #141 and at Stacy Garcia’s Booth #847.

A new collection of textured leathers, shown in two finished – Crossroads Tipped and Crossroads Handiwork – will be on display at Townsend Leather’s NBAA booth this year.
Each of the leathers highlights the embossed texture differently, creating two unique looks that can be used separately or together in coordinating applications.
Townsend reveals this small-scaled, embossed woven texture has been very popular for upholstery applications and it is now offering this on leather in five colorways for each technique. As always, the company promises custom colors are also available in these new leathers, with a nominal up charge and minimal extension of lead times. Townsend says the aniline-dyed hides meet all industry standards and offer great cutting yield on 55-60 sq/ft cowhides. The leathers are all produced at Townsend’s facility in New York State, USA.
A couple of weeks ago the whole Townsend gang got together to say goodbye to summer, welcome in the fall, spend some quality time relaxing together and kick back. We had a PARTNER PICNIC and it was fantastic.
It was a real festival of fun! With lots of food grilled up by our grill masters, cupcakes, games and music. But we also held a company wide Fishing Derby and even had a dunk tank! It was great weather, great tunes, great food, and great people – so needless to say, it was a great time. Only the teeny fish were biting, but it was all fun anyway.
We love it when our customers contact us with comments or especially with photos of their completed projects, but it is a rare and exciting thing when a customer brings their finished project right to us!
We had the opportunity a couple weeks ago to see a custom designed private turbo prop jet interior up close and personal! An extremely proud customer contacted us wanting to show off his plane that featured our leather on the seats. He flew into the local airport and let us snap some photos. The special turbo prop was incredible and the leather was equally so.
The very small local airport is a beautiful place to take photos, and it was an especially beautiful day.
The plane is a 4 seater private experimental jet. It is super lightweight and super-fast.
The owner is a huge Pink Floyd fan and chose the design inside and out to match his fandom.
Two of Townsend’s leather were upholstered on these seats a handful of years ago, but the leather looks as supple and gorgeous today as it did then.
With speeds of 400 miles per hour and able to travel half way across the country in just a couple hours, it was no surprise that the visit was short and sweet. But it was worth it to see our hand crafted and much loved leather being used in such a beautiful and pride filled way.
