Both made of the finest quality, luxury, designer, upholstery leather and further enhanced with patterns and hand-crafted techniques.

One-of-a-kind leathers with specialty hand-crafted techniques, utilizing the most stunning of patterns that are both on-trend and timeless, in colors that are endlessly pleasing.
Kinetic Cowhide features hand-drawn art as a multi-dimensional energetic pattern, pressed right into the leather, available in six energetic and enticing colorways.
Travel beyond the boundaries of traditional linework and flat planes with Kinetic, a non-directional and multi-dimensional design which radiates with a pulsating sense of energy. This organic-inspired leather emboss is hand-tipped with a subtle sheen with beautifully highlights the raised surfaces of the pattern.

Resurfaced Cowhide showcases Townsend expert craftsmen and their highly refined tipping technique. Hand-brushed lines applied to the surface give this leather dimension and unique beauty that are only accentuated by the soft and sophisticated mineral hues.
Experience the timeworn and aged appearance of Resurfaced, a hand-painted multi-layered design which renews and beautifies the leather’s natural grain surface. Various colors hand-brushed in multiple shades are applied to each section of leather creating tonal depth and revealing a nuance that is rich yet subtle.
This video shows one of our expert craftsmen applying the Resurfaced hand-tipping technique. The video is just a short snipet of the overall in-depth process. Townsend’s craftsmen utilize various tools and techniques while working on specially tailored tables with the full sized leather hides. The process is time consuming and takes tremendous focus, overlapping brush strokes in just the right spots, getting the exact angle of the brush correct, getting the exact amount of coloring on the brush tips, brush at the perfect speed, using the proprietary tools (not shown) in just the right way… and then doing it all again the other direction. It is an intensive process, but it is also a labor of love for our craftspeople, they treat each hide as the masterpiece work of art that it truly is.

Townsend Leather’s newest collection brings all the shine and more! Our newest Shimmering Suede is bursting with exciting or subtle, loud or understated, and large-scaled or slightly refined patterns.
All layered onto luxuriously supple and inviting suede.
Our newest Shimmering Suede Collection consists of genuine split suedes that have received several foil applications to create their one-of-a-kind look. There is a huge variety of patterns possible, some are shown here below.
These foiled patterns are available in a variety of matte or high sheen options on 18-22 SF split suedes with custom patterns and colors offered.

The Albany Times Union has once again surveyed 1000’s of companies in the area, sorted through the results and comments and have listed the awards for the Top Workplaces of 2016 for the Greater Albany Region of 2016, and Townsend Leather is very proudly on that list for the third year in a row!
The formal announcement happened at an event earlier this year. A core team of Townsend Partners went on behalf on the company and accepted our award. The event was great fun and reflected the even greater fun of working at Townsend Leather. Each Townsend Partner is proud to be on the team and we are honored to receive so many awards just for being us and creating the kind of place that we like to be in. We aim to keep improving and will look forward to new awards in the future.
Team Townsend, once again, was proud to participate in the huge Albany area CDPHP Workforce Challenge 5K! Our biggest group yet had a super rockin’ good time! Spending time bonding and chatting on the bus ride down, walking, running, rocking along the 5K course, and enjoying the crazy sites of the thousands of people gathered in the Empire State Plaza.
It was another moment for Townsend Partners to showcase their collective awesomeness and have fun as a team.
Townsend was even honored (and surprised) to be awarded with FIRST PLACE! IN THE T-SHIRT DESIGN COMPETITION! For the MOST CREATIVE T-SHIRT! See below for the t-shirt contest submission images and the shirt explanation.
Townsend Leather submits this T-Shirt design for consideration in the CDPHP Workforce Challenge 2016 T-Shirt Competition.
We are super proud of our rockin’ team at Townsend Leather, so we wanted to create a shirt that reflects a little bit of the awesome, powerful, gritty, rock that we produce and embody everyday.
This is meant to be an “interactive” shirt giving the wearer an opportunity to really shred some sweet air guitar riffs! As well as a microphone strategically placed to let the wearer scream into their chest as they run. We will be holding guitar neck toys (shown in the pic), cowbells, and custom Townsend Leather guitar picks as well, to really complete the look!
This shirt also builds on our Superhero theme from last year (shown peaking through under the guitar) because legacy, history, and of course super powers are also important to our rocking team.
The shirt is a bright “safety orange” color. The front shows a custom drawn Townsend sticker covered guitar and microphone layered on top of our Townsend “Super T’s” from last year. The back of the shirt says Townsend Leather Rocks, or it can be read as Townsend Rocks Leather – both are true!
Just settling in from the excitement of the HD Expo in Las Vegas, Team Townsend is packing up to head to EBACE in Switzerland.
This show is always bursting with activity for us and leaves us excited and inspired. We have so many brand new leathers to show off, ones that have been specifically designed for the aircraft industry.
One of these aircrafty, designy, everyone-pleasing, brand new leathers is our Pinnacle Cowhide.
We are proud to have this new collection featured in Altitudes Magazine.
