We have been taking some time to look back, but are excited to now turn our eyes to what’s next.
Looking just barely ahead to the Fall fashion trends.
We’ve talked before about Fashion/Interiors cycle, so we are excited to see how these fashion trends start to influence interiors.
Fall Fashion Trend for 2013, you will be seeing lots of lace. And often the subtle delicacy of lace will be coupled with the weight and suppleness of leather.
Icon, Beyonce, is one of many leading the front on this trend, see more about this look here, Fashbo.
And Townsend has been right along on this fashion ride, with one of our newest introductions, a Gaufraged and Tipped Nubuck leather, we are calling Lace Weave.

The woven lace look is prominent in fashion forward designs, more on these looks from WWD

Vegas Magazine tells about the dual side of lace and the fashion impact,
and shows a bit of the fall fashion influence lace has had on accessories as well.

No matter how you use it, in fashion, accessories, interiors, you are sure to see a lot of lace influence this fall.

There is nothing like holding leather in your hand, feeling it drape over your fingers, inhaling the intoxicating aroma, feeling its weight and suppleness, but when you can’t actually feel the leather – the next best thing is a photo.

Townsend is always looking for your photos, your stories, your projects.
We love to see our leather in action, if you have any photos you can share please send them along to info@townsendleather.com You could even be featured in our Designer Showcase!
But if you have no photos to share, feel free to browse ours – in our Photo Gallery, on Facebook, Pinterest or especially on Instagram where we have just started a new photo series of showcasing the beauty in machines, follow the hashtag #beautyinmachines.
We are trying to grow a trend around finding the beauty in everyday objects, and doing this with a focus on our Leather Manufacturing machines, we fully believe the real craft and beauty that comes from these machines is because of the hands that use them, but we like showing the unsung beauty of “regular” things.

Last week we took a look back at a few of the great things that have been created at Townsend so far this year. Continuing our nostalgic journey, we decided to look even further back, way back.

You can join on this look back by checking out our Company Timeline. We have just a couple photos of things at Townsend years ago…

But you can also take a trip in the internet Wayback Machine and take a look at the Townsend Leather.com of yesteryear, all the way back to 2002 (and further) you can see how far things have come, Townsend Leather website archive
Last week Townsend Leather president, Jared Eckler, was featured in The Leader Herald with his article about the local community and the efforts of the CEO Roundtable group that he is a member of.

The CEO Roundtable is passionate about growth and development in the Fulton Montgomery counties area. The article shows a bit of that passion as well as a passion for the people and culture of the area.
The article also displays Jared’s obvious passion for the company and the people in it.
Townsend is pleased to have a President leading us, that is so invested in the company and the community and shares a seemingly unending passion for both.

We have passed the halfway mark for year 2013, and it has been an exciting one so far. In a moment of reflection we thought it would be fun to take a glance at a few of the leathers we have created so far this year.

Covering all colors, textures, patterns, and techniques – it has been an exciting year for leather development!

Our regular readers will recognize some of these leathers from previous places, like here, here, here, here, here, and here

Take a quick look even further back into Townsend’s history
Townsend Leather wishes you and your family an exciting holiday! We will see you next week.
Whether its by way of memories or pop-culture induced imaginings; conjuring up wavy-gravy images of lounging in a wood paneled basement, listening to records on big ear-enveloping headphones, while sitting next to a leather “bumper” wrapped home bar – brings a relaxed, groovy, smile to your face.

We wanted to take this groovy feeling and build some leather options around it, but with our own Modern twist to it.

A new offering from Townsend Leather, what we are calling our, “Rec Room” series.
Taking some classic retro looks & feels and reinterpreting them for modern day.

And these aren’t just inspired by retro looks – they are the real deal. Townsend Leather has an unparalleled embossing library and most of the patterns chosen for The Rec Room series are actual embossing rolls made in the 60’s and 70’s. They aren’t retro-looking patterns, they are a step back in time to the actual patterns of the day.

You can see this 60’s/70’s, Retro-with-Modern-Flare trend influencing all kinds of things in the fashion and design worlds.
From the growing popularity of Instagram and its weathered photo look (take a look at this Instagram desktop search site: SearchInstagram), to the interior design influence of retro/modern interiors, to current fashion with mixes of patterns and dangly accessories.

This is a series of leather that you can use to bring a bit of nostalgia and a bit of whimsy to your projects, while still maintaining a modern sensibility.

These leathers are hand-crafted on supple lambskin, but can be reinterpreted for cowhide. And as always we can customize to suit your needs, use the Rec Room series as a starting point, as inspiration, a jump-off to add your own Modern Retro twist to a project.
