NBAA 2012 in Orlando was an exciting and engaging show for Townsend Leather.
Our booth featured lots of unique and new leathers, a stunning aircraft seat by Studio Vizto, expert consultation and conversation from The Leather Institute, new TownsendLeather.com viewing, and our Style Your Passion Project where we invited everyone to share their passion while wearing a leather mustache.
Townsend was pleased to be able to highlight a blend of brand new leathers and some tried-and-true favorites. Our hanging hide kiosks told several color stories in a wide range of textures and finishes. Our beautiful new in-stock Shimmering Suede Collection was on display in its own kiosk. We also debuted a new product called Bellina which is a full grain textured, high-performance leather that is reminiscent of “shrunken cowhide.” And last but not least, we featured some one-of-a-kind hides from our new Abstract Art series. These hand-crafted looks really elevate leather hides to pieces of artwork.
Our sister company, The Leather Institute was excited for the opportunity to renew their agreement with Appearance Group for a second Ten-Year Term at NBAA. Press photos were taken at the official signing. Unfortunately the Leather Institute guys had to leave NBAA early and drive the long way home to help and recover from the damage in their homes and city in New Jersey from Hurricane Sandy.
Townsend Leather had a lot of fun in our booth at NBAA 2012 in Orlando this year. We were excited to share our passion, new products, new website, and lots of conversation. We were even more excited to learn about everyone else’s passions.
We invited everyone who stopped by our booth to share what they are passionate about on a fun word bubble and “style” their passion by choosing from a variety of leather mustaches. It made for a fun and engaging time and lead to some interesting conversation.
We put together a quick slideshow with a sampling of all the passion photos we captured; it is a fun exploration of the variety of people at NBAA. We hope you enjoy it!
Thank you to everyone who participated! And thank you to NBAA and Orlando for such a sunny week and show. We will be hard at work getting out many sample requests and following up on the numerous exciting conversations we had. Looking forward to next year already!
Thank you to all of you who have contacted Townsend Leather to check how we’ve been impacted by Hurricane Sandy.
Fortunately, here in Upstate New York, we only faced minimal effects from the storm and we are operating as usual. There are no delays or impact to delivery of shipments at this time due to the aftermath of this storm.
Our thoughts and prayers are with those of you who were not so fortunate. We are thinking of you all, including members of our sister company, The Leather Institute, in New Jersey.
We will be holding a bake sale and a couple of other fundraising events here at Townsend over the coming weeks with proceeds going to help those affected by the storm.
Townsend Leather had a great Day One of the NBAA show. A bunch of people were excited to Share and Style Their Passions in the Townsend Leather booth with leather mustaches and “passion boards”. We will be posting more photos soon. You can see Jeff Herbert of LORD Corporation’s Passion of Engine Mounts in the photo above, he is also sporting a stylish “handle-bar” style mustache.
