As anyone in any business probably knows, every person and every department is as important as the next in creating greatness.

We at Townsend Leather know and value the entire process of pre-production to post-production.

Our feature today ventures on into the post-production world.  A department that is highly critical to Townsend’s success and valued for its first hand knowledge and exploration of Townsend’s very high standards of quality… our QC Department.

Using a variety of specialized machinery the expert technicians really put our leather to the test, literally.  They test for a wide range of attributes including wear and flammability.

Special ovens, UV booths, flamebooths, and an assortment of contraptions regulate and document every leather order to the highest of specifications.

However, the QC Lab is not exclusively a post-production department.  We take all of the continuous findings and insights of the QC department very seriously and are continuously improving our product and processes based on those findings.

Thanks for joining us on this journey “Out on the floor”.

Townsend Leather is proud to be featured in a recent article by Aircraft Interiors International magazine.  Our own “bright forecaster” VP of Sales and Marketing, Sarah Eckler was interviewed about the current state and future outlook of aircraft interiors and the market as a whole.

As a part of our unyielding efforts at continuous improvement, Townsend Leather values the importance of each of our partner’s personal health.

With that in mind, we just recently kicked off a popular event for the Townsend team, “Fresh Fruit Fridays!”  With as much fruit as we can carry, we spread it around the buildings for everyone to enjoy.  With almost 80 pounds of fresh cut fruit this past Friday, we were sure we would be “crowding out” the unhealthier snack choices for everyone.

There will be a lot more healthy initiatives for Townsend Leather come 2013!

As Townsend Leather happily glides into this Holiday Season, we always like to take a moment and look back on the year that was.

2012 was an exciting year for Townsend Leather; it was very fast-moving and produced a lot of special memories.  Our Townsend Leather family grew this year and as we take some time over the next couple of weeks to spend with our home families, we wanted to offer a little glimpse of what 2012 looked like for Townsend Leather.

Our year-in-review gallery of images, you will see a bit of the new products, new machines, new construction, new groups, new partners, new learning, and new experiences that we enjoyed throughout the year.

For a bit more information about our year, take a look at our most recent Bi-Monthly Bulletin and review the Holiday Luncheon we recently had.

Happy Holidays from all of us at Townsend Leather, and we look forward to everything that will come for each of us in 2013!

See you next year!

Townsend Leather is excited about the holidays and held our annual company Holiday Pot Luck Luncheon a bit early this year.

With lots of awards, great conversation, delicious food, laughs, and memories, it was a wonderful time for the company to all come together.  We relaxed and spent time thinking about the past year’s accomplishments.

Having 140 people all in one room, celebrating their shared successes and stories makes for a very fun and powerful time.

Townsend Leather wishes the best for you this holiday season.

The fine folks at Constant Aviation have provided Townsend Leather with our most recent Designer Showcase submission.

They created some exciting looking mock-up aircraft seats for their NBAA display, using three of Townsend’s leathers.  See the Showcase
