Townsend Leather is excited about the holidays and held our annual company Holiday Pot Luck Luncheon a bit early this year.
With lots of awards, great conversation, delicious food, laughs, and memories, it was a wonderful time for the company to all come together. We relaxed and spent time thinking about the past year’s accomplishments.
Having 140 people all in one room, celebrating their shared successes and stories makes for a very fun and powerful time.

The fine folks at Constant Aviation have provided Townsend Leather with our most recent Designer Showcase submission.
They created some exciting looking mock-up aircraft seats for their NBAA display, using three of Townsend’s leathers. See the Showcase
Pantone just announced their influential, yearly exploration of what will be a prominent color of the year 2013.
We are already seeing this color influence designs around the world with some of the leather that we currently have in production. You can see a couple photos below that were just snapped this morning.

This time we take a quick stop by the Dry Drum department.
Townsend Leather partner, Dave, pulls some luxurious Taj Pearl leather from the drums.
The Dry Drum department serves multiple functions, but one bit of magic that happens here is, one more step toward creating the leathers incredible suppleness. All that tumbling and rolling helps makes the leather soft and creamy. You can see the leather just spilling out of the drums as he gently pulls it to spread it out over the “horse” that will hold the leather.
Let us know if there’s a particular area of leather production that you’ve always wanted to explore more.
