2013 Year End
In this time of reflection, sharing, and holiday spirit we at Townsend Leather always like to take a moment and reflect on our year. 2013 was another exciting year in the world and in the world of Townsend.
- We had some major milestones like our AS9100 Re-certification.
- We had lots of visitors from customers and our world wide sales team as well as people like Congressman Owens.
- We created new products (Pantone Color of the Year, Lace Weave, Lots of Colors…) and even further improved our processes.
- We got new machinery and new top talent people. We participated in many meaningful events like Relay For life.
- And we made lots of memories in and out of Townsend all along the way.

As we begin 2014 in these still uncertain times, I am moved by a Theodore Roosevelt quote that inspired the title for Brene Brown’s book, Daring Greatly.
“ It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better.
The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat. ”

I think we can all find inspiration in this message as we toil courageously in the year ahead, take creative risks, consider and try out new possibilities and endeavor each day to work passionately to our fullest potential.
