Are you a designer that works mostly with a neutral color palette? Our standard double box set comes with a wide array of colors and styles of leather - pops of color included. But if you don’t use those colors, we are happy to customize your box set with only the color families you use. This customized box set features neutral color families with emphasis on metallics, animal prints, and solids and lightly textured leathers in browns, tans, blacks, taupes, creams, and off whites.

During the last full week of March, we are still celebrating the women of Townsend (who represent over 40 percent of our team currently), for the amazing job they do in roles all over the company. From shipping, qc, color-matching, production cycle leads, hand-tipping, coloring, ticket-making to accounting, inventory control, sales, marketing, sampling, and customer service and more, we have women Partners contributing at high levels in nearly every department. We could not do it without them and are so thankful they share their skills and talents with @townsendleather on a daily basis.

Our next 2025 award goes to Olivia Eckler for the Stepped-Up Award! She embodies quiet confidence and unwavering determination, consistently rising to the occasion. She is also a fourth generation family member in the company, daughter of Sarah and Jared Eckler who are so very proud of her and excited she has joined Townsend.

When our team faced significant loss in Customer Service and Marketing, she didn’t hesitate to step up, taking on new responsibilities despite being outside her comfort zone. From designing storefront displays featuring trailblazing women to creating the Lookback yearbook, to taking on designing and organizing our product masterbook project, and assisting with daily sample requests, social media, trade show prep and more, she has really taken on a lot this past year - supporting her mom on whatever is needed most urgently. This was essential not only for our sales strategy but so another member of our Marketing team, Megan, could step out of her marketing role to focus on our growing quilting business. Olivia has brought new creativity, resilience, and heart to the team and we are lucky to have her!

Each of these All-Women nominees, Olivia, Maria, Elsa, Sasha, Daniela, Kayla, and Paige represent what it means to rise to the occasion, face challenges with determination, and make a lasting impact. Congratulations to all for their incredible contributions!

An inside look at one of our Customer Service Partner’s desk. When requests for customized sampling packages come in, each request is pulled by our Sample Team and then reviewed, arranged, and recorded by the Customer Service rep in our customer management system. We keep small “retainer” samples from the same dye lot of the sample we are sending on file by customer name for each sample requested so that when an order comes in, we can find that retainer and send it through production as the target swatch to match. This is how we ensure that we are matching all the characteristics of each leather specified and that we make and ship leather that matches what was presented to the end client.

We love curating sample packages - finding a nice array of options is one of the most fun parts of the job and we take pride in every detail of the pull, ensuring each sample is labeled on the back with the accurate information and recorded for future reference.
