The first class session of The Fundamentals of Leather: Quality, Performance, and Specification will be hosted at Townsend Leather at the end of September, but it can be joined from anywhere in the world through our virtual Zoom classroom.
This class is a Leather 101 type of course covering the ins and outs of leather tanning and production. It will be presented by Ron Cathey. The class is 1 hour long and offers credit toward designers’ CEU requirements.

Instructor Bio:
Ronald Cathey has been a sales manager with Townsend Leather since 2017, specializing in premium leather materials for hospitality, aviation, and commercial interior environments. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Ron has over ten years of experience in the interiors industry, including nine years working directly with leather materials and three years as a program manager supporting aircraft seating development. In his current role, he works closely with designers, manufacturers, and aircraft completion centers to support the specification of high-performance leather for interior applications.
Through his experience collaborating with global design teams and aviation interior programs, Ron brings practical insight into how leather is produced, evaluated, and properly specified for demanding interior environments.
